On Wednesday, February 14th G Spot Hair Design hosted its 4th Annual Locks of Love Hair Drive.  The event was extremely successful and we were able to collect hair from nine donors to send to Locks of Love. We offered up Valentines day treats to participants and their friends and family who came to cheer them on.  To add to the festivities the entire salon was decorated from head to toe in pink, white, and red hearts and streamers.  Everyone had a great time and cannot wait for next year!

This year G Spot Hair Design joined forces with the University of Iowa Dance Marathon Committee to host a mini-drive the week before our event.  Krista and Emily stood up in stage with Darian and cut off ponytails in front of the crowd of Dance Marathon participants, as well as fielding interview questions form local TV crews and news organizations.  Emily's favorite part was "Cutting off the ponytails in front of everyone and seeing Krista wave them in the air!"  Fifteen generous dancers donated their locks for a grand total of 25 total contributors for the Valentine's season.  Some people were even able to donate more than one ponytail! 

Locks Of Love is a non- profit organization devoted to providing financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medial hair loss from any diagnosis.  Most children helped by Locks Of Love have lost their hair due to a condition called Alopecia Aereata, which has no known cause or cure.  They also assist may children suffering from other medical conditions, including hair loss due to chemotherapy
